Homologation of Divorce Decree

1. Divorce Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign divorce decree, legalized or apostilled.

2. Marriage Certificate: Original and updated marriage certificate of the applicant.

3. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the applicant (issued in the country of origin and translated, if necessary).

4. Proof of Identity: Valid passport or ID document.

5. Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the applicant and the ex-spouse, translated if necessary.

6. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

   1. Adoption Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign adoption decree, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Child's Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the adopted child.

   3. Adoptive Parents' Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the adoptive parents, if applicable.

   4. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the adoptive parents.

   5. Proof of Identity of Adoptive Parents: Valid passport or ID document of the adoptive parents.

   6. Proof of Residence: Proof of residence of the adoptive parents in Portugal, if necessary.

   7. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

2. Homologation of Paternity/Maternity Recognition Decree

   1. Paternity/Maternity Recognition Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign recognition decree, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Child's Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the child in question.

   3. Parents' Birth Certificates: Birth certificates of the biological parents, if applicable.

   4. Proof of Identity of Parents: Valid passport or ID document of the parents.

   5. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the parents, translated if necessary.

   6. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

3. Homologation of Custody or Guardianship Decree

   1. Custody/Guardianship Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign custody/guardianship decree, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Child's Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the minor.

   3. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the legal guardians, translated if necessary.

   4. Proof of Identity: Passport or ID document of the legal guardian.

   5. Proof of Residence: Proof of residence of the legal guardian in Portugal, if necessary.

   6. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

4. Homologation of Decree of Recognition of Common-Law Marriage

   1. Common-Law Marriage Recognition Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign recognition decree, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Partners' Birth Certificates: Birth certificates of the partners involved in the common-law marriage.

   3. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the partners, translated if necessary.

   4. Proof of Identity: Valid passport or ID document of the partners.

   5. Proof of Residence: Proof of joint residence in the foreign country or in Portugal.

   6. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

5. Homologation of Property Division Decree

   1. Property Division Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign property division decree, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Marriage or Divorce Certificate: Marriage or divorce certificate, as applicable.

   3. Proof of Identity: Passport or ID document of the parties involved.

   4. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate, translated if necessary.

   5. Property Ownership Certificates: Documents proving the property to be divided.

   6. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

6. Homologation of Name or Civil Status Change Decree

   1. Name or Civil Status Change Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign decree of name or civil status change, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Birth Certificate: Updated birth certificate of the applicant with the new name or civil status, if applicable.

   3. Proof of Identity: Passport or ID document of the applicant with the name or civil status change.

   4. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate, translated if necessary.

   5. Proof of Payment of Fee: Receipt for the payment of administrative fees.

7. Homologation of Nationality Recognition Decree

   1. Nationality Recognition Decree: Authenticated copy of the foreign decree recognizing nationality, legalized or apostilled.

   2. Birth Certificate: Birth certificate of the applicant.

   3. Proof of Identity: Valid passport or ID document of the applicant.

   4. Parents' Birth Certificates: Birth certificates of the parents, if the nationality request is based on ancestry.

   5. Criminal Record Certificate: Criminal record certificate of the applicant, translated if necessary.

Important Observations

1. Legalization/Apostille: All documents issued abroad must be legalized or apostilled according to the Hague Convention to guarantee their authenticity and acceptance by Portuguese authorities.

2. Sworn Translation: Foreign documents must be translated into Portuguese by a sworn translator if they are not in Portuguese.
